Facade Improvement Program

With funding from the Berks Alliance, the 18th Ward Improvement Association manages a façade grant program. The façade program is open to both private residences and private businesses.

The façade program can provide up to $10,000 in matching grant funds for improvements to the front of a building. A separate façade program can provide up to $5,000 for improvements or additions to lighting or business signs.

Please note that this is a matching grant program. Additional details about the program are below.

Purpose of Façade Improvement Program

The purpose of the program is to improve the exterior appearance of uildings that face heavily traveled roads in the 18th Ward. The map below highlights the primary and secondary façade program zones. Façade money can be used outside of the zones, but projects within the zones are more likely to be funded.
